Pre-K through Grade 4 students read books for a promised number of hours during the school day, raising funds from families that a donor then matched. The students ended up donating three water buffalo, two llamas, one goat, three hives of bees, three rabbits, two chicks, one pig, and a flock of ducks, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.
